Depression

Depression

Stress, workplace burnout, anxiety and depression can all be addressed with treatment. The serenity of the counselling environment is just part of the process. Highly qualified counsellers work to reach the root causes – often spanning many years of stress or trauma – to enable the individual to process the information and learn to engage healthy responses to traumatic events.

Sometimes this is verbal – such as in talking therapies – sometimes, this is non-verbal, as demonstrated with art therapy and equine assisted psychotherapy – an extraordinary process in which emotions are often ‘unlocked’ by interaction with, and observation of, therapeutic horses. Many psychological modalities are available – including EMDR (a process that minimises disturbing memories) and CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) – all designed to encourage the mind to process information in a more positive way.
